A French architectural office designed the building,
which was built as a hotel in 1974, with an eclectic approach using local
motifs. While preparing the renovation project of this building located in the
historical part of the city, the employer wanted the existing architectural
elements of the building to be handled with a contemporary interpretation.
The design adhered to the existing facade openings.
The surfaces were covered with precast material and a shell effect was created.
The ground floor was designed to serve external visitors with functions
suitable for social use. On this floor, there is the hotel entrance, meeting
rooms that also serve external users, a patisserie, a restaurant and a bar
area. The other two floors were designed with functions serving hotel guests.
There are a total of 38 rooms in the hotel, including 32 standard rooms and 6 suite
rooms.
The open space in the center of the hotel, which was
used as a warehouse in the old design, has been turned into a living courtyard
in the newly designed project. This became a lively social space serving both
hotel guests and restaurant guests. By reorganizing the volume as a courtyard,
sunlight and fresh air were provided to the rooms on the upper floors.
In the existing building, the area, which was an
unused garden on the ground floor, was turned into a structure integrated into
the hotel by obtaining the necessary permissions. There is a patisserie on the
ground floor of this building, and an outdoor pool and bar serving hotel
customers on the first floor.
